Silvan holds a degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Malta and an MBA from the University of Reading, with specialisation electives in Corporate Finance and Leadership in Management.
Silvan has a varied working experience covering various sectors in the economy such as telecomms, manufacturing and financial services. He was also an Executive Director of a Cat 3 licensed entity under the Investments Services Act, representing UBS investment funds in Malta.
He has also served as a lecturer for LSE students doing their undergraduate degree in Banking & Finance.
At EMCS, he is responsible for the areas related to regulatory advice for both traditional financial licences and licences/registration under the Virtual Financial Assets Act, various type of financing options, business strategy advice and financial analysis.
Silvan’s outgoing personality and detailed knowledge of Malta’s Fintech Regulatory framework make him a valuable key note speaker at various international conferences.
He has recently been assigned by the Malta Institute of Management to lecture, as part of a VFA Agent course, in areas related to MiFID and the Financial Instrument Test.
