EMCS has developed expertise in the educational field especially in the areas relating to the development of curricula for both vocational and non-vocational subjects, delivery of custom training, mentoring and student assessment.

EMCS has, together with a number of local and foreign partners, been involved in a number of ESF funded projects that involved the development of a number of courses at diploma and higher diploma level in a number of diverse areas including health and beauty, business and administration, maritime, ICT, agriculture and fisheries amongst others.

EMCS was also the lead partner in the development and delivery of the ADVANCE training course (a tourism training course directed towards middle and senior management) that was designed with the help of a number of leading academics worldwide and accredited by the Institute of Hospitality in the UK.

Healthcare training is another area of specialisation that EMCS provides with a number of senior advisors specialising in delivering a cohort of units to medical, para medical and nursing staff at both operational and senior managerial level.

EMCS carried out a field research on behalf of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), the "Provision of a Training Needs Analysis for MCAST Staff".  The aim of the whole project is to carry out a training needs analysis in order to identify the main training needs of the different categories of the employees.

The first technique adopted for this project is desk research, where EMCS carried out a review of best practices, case studies, and other documentation relevant for the study.  Through this desk research it was possible to identify trends and demands on employees' skills.  EMCS consultants then carried out focus groups and personal interviews with members of staff to obtain in depth information on the challenges at the workplace and identify any skills gaps.  A telephone survey was also conducted to obtain information on specific training needs and competences.  The experts involved on this project then put forward recommendations on the updated of strategy/vision documents, regulations, procedures and training programmes.  They also provided a roadmap for the up-skilling of member of staff and identified the key priorities.
