Performance Improvement Program (PIP)

In today’s fast-changing business environment one can rarely devise a strategy or budget and stick to it. These must be continuously adapted and changed as the external context changes and new information comes in. Relying exclusively on traditional financial accounting measures can give misleading signals for continuous improvement and innovation – activities  that today’s competitive environment demands.

This leads on to a critical aspect of our PIP module – measurement. The risks or shortcomings previously highlighted arise mainly due to the lack of tools for measuring criteria outside those presented in the financial accounts. In fact, we believe that the creation and implementation of additional performance measures to financial measures is critical for long-term performance improvement.

The essence of PIP is based on managing an organization on the basis of the E M C S model of performance improvement:

  • Measurement
  • Creativity
  • Simplification

The E M C S Performance Improvement Programme was developed because while consulting with various organizations we have come to realize that in today’s difficult business environment, corporate leaders and executives do not have the time to read reports and implement abstract management ideas.
